Dr. Kawango is a Kenyan research scientist. She obtained her PhD and MPH from the University of Washington, Seattle, and proceeded to coordinate the trial on medical male circumcision for HIV prevention at the Kisumu site in Kenya. Under the auspices of Impact Research and Development Organization, which she founded and is directing, Kawango has implemented tens of HIV prevention research and programs with key and priority populations, including adolescents and young people, fisherfolk and sex workers
